Forgiving Yourself

Humans are prone to make mistakes, not once but repeatedly. What’s worse is that you start to project them upon yourself, as if you are destined to make mistakes. This is one of the biggest reasons why people have low self-esteem. Therefore, you must forgive yourself for all your mistakes and understand that you can always make up for them. Moreover, your forgiveness has to come from within; nobody else can do it for you.

The feeling of forgiveness brings a sense of release, and we start to feel free from the burden of guilt on our hearts and minds, which makes us think that we should be punished for our actions. It allows us to let go of the growing anxiety and live a life of liberty, thus boosting our morale. Self-forgiveness leads to a peaceful mindset, which ultimately leads to positive thoughts.

Therefore, if you want to be free of your guilt, you must start by forgiving yourself. It brings you the priceless freedom that you may not have experienced until now. And, to live a life of grace, mercy, and compassion, you must begin with yourself.

Avoiding Negativity

We are surrounded by many negative people and negative thoughts that cloud our minds and make us think poorly of ourselves. To avoid negativity, you have to identify the circumstances that trigger negative thoughts about yourself. For instance, there is a crisis or unforeseen situation at home, school, or work, and you are being blamed for it. This will cause you to think lowly of yourself and also blame yourself for everything that has happened.

The next step is to delve deep inside yourself and examine your feelings about the circumstances above. Once you have a clearer view of the situation, you will stop blaming yourself and tell yourself to stop feeling bad about what happened. You can think and act positively – it just takes a bit of conscious effort to do so.

Your thoughts may be based on logic and facts, or they could be completely irrational. Either way, through introspection, you will be able to get a broader view of the situation, and this will lead you to consider other possible reasons for the mishap that you are being blamed for. When your internal peace is in question, nothing you do is wrong or unjustified, be it cutting out toxic people, or coming clean to your loved ones.

Improving Yourself

Some things in life may be impossible for you to achieve, as we all have our limitations, and everything happens for the best. So, rather than pondering over what you can’t handle or control, how about investing your energy in the things you can change or make better. This is all a part of self-discovery or exploring yourself. The purpose of this is to discover what you are good at and how much potential you have.

Once you are on the path to self-discovery, things start to become clearer for you, and you no longer experience failure. Best of all, you learn how to keep going without quitting, which is one of the most important things to do. For instance, kids who do well in math are considered smart, but they have always been bad. Does that mean you are not smart? Not at all. Maybe your passion always lies in acting, so why not join the drama club and do what you love? Once you start doing things that you love and make you feel better, it skyrockets your self-esteem and makes you more confident.

Being Grateful

Without gratitude in your life, you don’t realize all the good things you have in your lie. You have to be grateful for the small things and the big things you enjoy in life, for life itself, for your loved ones and friends who support you, and for each moment you are alive. Most of all, be grateful to yourself for making it this far.

Through gratitude, you will be able to think positively and feel better emotionally by channeling your resources and strengthening your optimistic goals. Your brain recognizes patterns that help it interpret all of the information it gets. You will start noticing the abundance of good things in your life, and it will make you an overall positive person with high self-esteem.

You will feel thankful and eventually happier. Feel grateful by knowing that humans don’t even have food to eat or water to drink and be motivated by the ones you feel have more than you. Self-esteem stems from knowing that you have enough.

This is all we have on how to improve your self-esteem. The important thing to remember is that you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself. You can run, jump, reach out and do whatever you want. You may also encounter hurdles in between, but that doesn’t mean that you are a failure.

How to be a More Productive Homeschool Mom

Productive homeschool moms recognize the need for structure and routine. While every child learns differently, homeschooling children is all about developing the best productivity habits to ensure each child gains the education they deserve.

Today I’m sharing some tips to help homeschool moms be more productive with their homeschooling time. These tips will help you go from unorganized and frustrated to productive and happy in no time!

Focus on One Thing

The most productive homeschool moms have come to realize that multitasking doesn’t quite work. The best hack I can tell you is to focus on one thing at a time. Make a list of the top three important tasks each morning. These tasks will be whatever lessons you truly desire to cover each day.

Remove all distractions while you’re working on each task with your children. This means putting your smartphone in the other room, turning off the television or radio, and making sure the area is distraction-free so you can focus on each task one at a time with your children.

Embrace The Word No

It’s easy to get consumed with all of the options to cover as a homeschool mom but you can only handle so much being one person. Learn to embrace saying no to things that your family determines isn’t a priority in the homeschool curriculum.

Sit with your family, including the children, and discuss what everyone needs and wants to learn this year. Be okay with telling your kid no if something isn’t going to fit in with your current homeschool schedule. You can always pencil in ideas for the next year’s homeschooling sessions.

Nail That Morning Routine

The most productive homeschool moms have their morning routine nailed down! That means they have an established wake-up time that allows them time to enjoy a cup of tea, read some literature, and prepare mentally for their homeschool day.

You’ll need to make a note of what activities or practices help you be the most productive person. This might include a brief morning workout, a cup of coffee, or reading a chapter in your favorite book. Write down your morning routine and remain firm about practicing this ritual every single day.

Don’t Neglect Yourself

Another habit of highly productive homeschool moms is that they know when to pause for self-care. They build a self-care routine into their schedule so that they’re always working with a full bucket. Make a list of things that help you relax and feel complete.

Rather than thinking about what you don’t have, think about what you do have. Practice gratitude for the people who love you, friends who support you. Practice gratitude for having a roof over your head, food to eat, and a comfy bed to sleep in. Gratitude journals are a great idea as well. As a freelance writer and entrepreneur, social media is a huge part of my business world. Quitting social media for good is not a reasonable option for me. I can, however, quit social media for “fun”. I’ve started to slowly refrain from sharing too much of my personal life on social media and limited the time I spend scrolling the newsfeeds.

Removing the apps from your smartphone will be a great start to detoxing yourself from social media. You may eventually quit social media for good on the personal side and only post on your business page once you see all of the benefits that come from quitting social media.

Schedule the social media updates for your business. Uninstall the social media apps from your phone and make a schedule of things to do during this two-week social media detox.

Write down how you feel at the start, middle, and end of this time quitting social media. Evaluate how you feel and determine if quitting social media is something that makes sense for you. If you feel that your time away from social media has improved your mental health and relationship with the people closest to you, then perhaps it’s time to consider quitting social media for good.

My Journey to Great Success

Hey everyone! Brandy Ellen here. I’m ready to share some of my experiences in life that led me to great success. This journey has had twists and turns, ups and downs, tears, and smiles. I’ve cried and laughed, I’ve laughed so hard I cried, but here I am with the confidence to say that I’ve achieved great success!

Food in the Home Great Success

I understand that we all define great success in different ways. My first experience of feeling as if “I made it” was when, after years of struggling, my children finally had a full freezer, fridge, and cupboards of food. Some processed foods, some fresh, but food nonetheless!

  • To me, having food in the home to supply the children with their needs in this area made me feel like a great success!

That was probably my first set of tears that flowed from my eyes down my cheeks in 2020. Finally! The kids had a steady food supply without having state assistance. Yes, I’ve been on state assistance at various times in my life, both cash and food stamps.

I’ve had to stay with my parents more than once, and I’ve been homeless. Life wasn’t ever “easy” for me, and it’s not “easy” now, nor do I expect life to ever be “easy”.

  • Here’s the thing; life isn’t meant to be easy, it’s meant to help you grow stronger, wiser, and more well-rounded as each new chapter arrives.

It may sound funny to some of you out there, that this positive thinking freelance writer, felt most successful when she provided FOOD for her kids. That’s okay, I’m confident with the way I define success and my individual story of great success.

Great Success in Relationships

Another area where I define something as part of my great success story is being reunited with my sons’ father. We divorced when our youngest of two boys was around age 2. While we’ve always been amicable, and perhaps many issues derived from having two babies in two years, us reuniting in late 2019 is for sure part of what I feel is a great success.

Learning to spend time listening to someone, communicating effectively with them, and then having that ah-ha moment that ‘wait we should be together’ thought is such an amazing experience.

We both were at a time in our life where we saw the value of the friendship we’ve always had, the sons we shared, and each other. When you can pause all the emotions of the past, to live in this one moment, and truly feel what’s right and act on it? That’s a great success!

  • When you’re married or in a relationship with someone who values your opinon, listens to your thoughts, and truly cares about you it’s worth more than any amount of money.

To me, great success is not defined in terms of financial gain. Great success is defined as the ability to grow from the not-so-wise younger version of yourself into a mature, open-minded, well-rounded individual.

Great Success with Business

While I don’t define great success in terms of finances alone, it is a significant part of my great success story. Lack of money is what led my ex and me back together; we were both homeless (for different financial reasons) with our sons together before committing to take friendship to the relationship level, again.

Managing money better is what led to the great success of having food in our home. So, finances do play a key role in my great success story. I just don’t feel it’s the defining part of my story.

I got lost along the journey to great success. I had these goals ready to achieve, and in walked someone who didn’t belong in that journey (more than once). I didn’t set healthy boundaries with others. I just let life pass me by as I tried to figure out the best direction after each mishap.

  • I’ve always known in my soul that you will have great success in business if you follow your heart, stay true to who you are, and help others along the way rather than focusing on “I need to make money now”.

The only reason that I sit here today sharing my story is that, with the help of my supportive community around me, I kept on going. I didn’t resort to negative self-talk, bashing others, or looking outward to blame something or someone for my mishaps.

Each time I allowed someone or something to interrupt my path to my goals, I looked inward to learn more about myself. I wanted to know, needed to know, the root problem for my mishaps. I will continue using my growth mindset to evaluate and adjust as each new chapter arrives.

No matter how often I get taken off course, or what happens in my life, I’ve continuously helped others, let others vent to me, lent support, and advice. I do these things because they matter more deeply to me than the amount of money in my bank account.

  • I have always stayed true to what my true mission in life is; to inspire others to live their best life!

This, my friends, is my true great success story. Being blessed to help others in any way I can. Whether it’s donating funds to help with groceries or a new baby on the way, helping them with a minor blog problem, or lending my ear for listening;

the biggest reasons I stand here today with food in the home, a roof over my head, an amazing partner, and a successful business is that I stayed true to who I am and I never gave up.

I can’t help but pour my heart out with how much a growth mindset can help you overcome so many challenges that life tosses at you. If you truly have a dream to be your own boss, and you want to change the world, you can do it!

A growth mindset is what alters my perspective of situations that happen to me. I allow myself to feel the grief, sadness, or anger but move on as soon as that process is over. I remove the emotion from the story, adjust my sails, and handle what I can handle today to achieve my great success story.

My story isn’t over yet, it is something that I will continuously work on throughout my entire life, but as of this moment? I am pretty confident in saying that my great success story has expanded enough that I’m now better able to help others get through those mishaps so that they can learn to harness the growth mindset and do great things in their life.

Tips to Ease Anxiety During a Crisis

Many people suffer from anxiety. Some have stronger symptoms of anxiety than others, but either way, anxiety can consume your entire being as you crumble into pieces.

Anxiety causes an irrational level of fear and worry. This fear and worry can lead you down a path of depression and the inability to cope with everyday life. Our team knows what anxiety feels like, which is why we provide a variety of tips and tools to help you cope during times of high anxiety.

With many people having been in lockdown, and some still are, during the 2020/2021 pandemic, we wanted to share some tips that can help anyone with anxiety relax a teeny bit during times of crisis.

Unplug from Screens

Anxiety can be fueled when you watch the news, surf social media, or see advertisements. During a crisis, you’ll find that every part of the internet and most news sources are talking about the crisis. This won’t help you reduce anxiety.

  • Try to unplug from screens for a bit so that you can ease your way back to reality. Reducing the amount of time you consume negative media will help calm your fear and incessant worrying.

Call a Friend

If you’re stuck at home or just so crippled with anxiety that you don’t want to go anywhere, then why not call a friend?! We all have that special someone or group of friends who understand our anxiety and are more than willing to talk us off the ledge.

  • Find solace in reaching out to your loved ones who can help you get those irrational fears and worries out of your head.

Write a Journal

A gratitude journal is one of our personal favorite activities to use as a means to keep our team members’ anxiety in check. Our team members have each had their fair share of trauma or anxiety and most will tell you that journaling helped them a lot!

  • Write in your journal twice a day during times of high anxiety and at least three times per week when life is a bit more stable.

Start Meditation

There are so many meditation apps available, our team has recommended these Guided Meditation & Hypnosis Audios to help with this process. Using some form of meditation, be it sitting still and closing your eyes, or using hypnosis audios, will significantly improve your mindset so you chill out.

  • Look at the app store on your smartphone for a free meditation app. Try a few of them until one resonates with you. Stick with the one that helps you most, and use it daily!

When it comes to learning how to cope with anxiety during a crisis, there’s no one size fits all solution. We understand that each of you out there is unique in how you cope during times of high stress. All we can do is provide you with the above tips and tools to get you started in a direction that helps YOU, the individual.
