personal development self growth plans

Setting Self Growth Plans

There are many ways to decide on what self growth plans you’ll focus on this year. Planning on this form of personal improvement is all about focusing on values, reflection, goals, and other areas of personal development such as your career and relationships.

Where can you start with Self Growth Plans?

We’ve found the most successful people who master self growth start their personal development path by listening to people close to them. Pay close attention to what your loved ones say or ask of you during the day.

Some exmaples of self growth ideas that may come from household members, include;

  • “You always beat down my ideas when I have them. I can’t share ideas with you anymore because you just don’t listen.”
  • “Mom you’re always on your phone when we’re supposed to be watching a movie together!”
  • “Dad you work so much and when you’re home all you do is sit at your computer.”
  • “Hunny, I feel like you’re just not present when I’m talking. Your body language shows me you’re not interested in what I’m saying and so I shut down and start to become bitter.”

How to Use Self Growth Feedback

Some of the above statements about self growth may be overlooked by a fixed mindset person. You may not be open to wanting to grow, and that’s okay.

We are all allowed to grow or stand sill as we see fit.

If you’re someone with a growth mindset who wants to work on personal improvement and master being a better version of yourself today than you were yesterday, then you need to hear what your loved ones are saying.

Here is what we hear when a loved one says the above statements;

  • “I don’t feel valued in this relationship because we always have to go with your ideas. My ideas don’t ever seem good enough and you don’t listen to them anyway so why should I share them.”
  • “Mom, please stop ignoring our time together. This quality time matters to me so you being on your phone upsets me and makes me feel less important.”
  • “Dad, I don’t feel like us kids matter to you because you just work all week and then sit like a zombie in front of the computer never interacting with us when you’re home.”
  • “My love, I don’t feel like this relationship is working unless we change the way we communicate. Body language is shouting that you’re simply not connecting with me and that pushes me away. We need to fix this or walk away from this.”

As you can see the above four checkpoints that we first shared can be translated into a self growth opportunity. These icon bullet points can lead to a pretty negative outcome regarding a relationship with your loved one, kids, and household in general if you don’t find a way to work on personal development.

Making the Promise to Work on Self Growth

Based on many years of watching and working with others, we have found that the promise to work on self growth must be made by the individual to the individual.

  • Most personal development only happens when the individual desires a change and something better in their life.

Start listening to what people around you are saying or doing. Do you recognize their body language saying something that their lips aren’t saying? This is something many intuitive and empathetic people notice right away!

Learn to watch for cues that your closest family and friends share about you. These are the people who want the best for you, no matter what, so they’re the best people to look to for personal improvement ideas.

You can make notes of what your family and friends say throughout the day, or just ask each of them what they feel you need some improvement on. They may say some things that hurt, but pause before reacting! These people are being open with you so that you can learn what self growth plans to make for this year!

These people are not trying to hurt or upset you! They are answering the question honestly based on their perception to better help you grow. Please refrain from asking people on social media these questions.

Those who are connected with you online only know a small portion of who you are and what you can be. This type of personal improvement self growth work must be completed based on people’s feedback of those who know you to your core!

Conclusion on Self Growth Plans

Now that you have evaluated what other people have said or share for information on what they feel you need to work on for self growth, it’s time to make a promise to yourself.

Figure out what you want to focus on this year, write down a promise that you will work on whatever self growth goals you have.

Something as simple as, “I promise myself that I will be better at listening to my family when they speak and truly hear what they have to say” is a great promise to start with.

Make a promise to yourself that you will achieve great success with your self growth plans this year, by writing an affirmative promise on paper and then start reading all the books on personal development topics, and use postiive affirmations to train your subconscious mind during this process.

We end with this question today;

What helps you be more aware of what areas you should work on for self growth?

Common myth: Budgets are for people in debt

First of all, budgeting is not for people in debt, but for any person who wishes to stabilize their finances and avoid debt. If you’re merely balancing your checkbook, that’s still not as good as budgeting because the checkbook cannot prepare you for unexpected expenses. Budgets, on the other hand, can. You cannot control events like sudden repairs or health trouble, but you can manage your money. Don’t let it control you.

Since we’ve covered the widespread myths, it’s time to go over the crucial steps of creating your budget.

Steps to create a household budget

  • The first thing you will have to do is identify your essential goals.
  • Secondly, you will have to rank your monthly spending from necessary to trivial.
  • Your third step should be adding your net income and subtracting expenses.
  • The fourth step will consist of adjusting your planned expenses and considering additional income if necessary.
  • Final step – adjusting your planned expenses and considering additional income if necessary.

Identifying your goals is the basis for your budget

If you want to make your budget work, you have to tie it to your personal goals. Those should include the purchases you want to make when you want to buy them and how much money you will need to make it happen (both total amount and the monthly rate).

Pro tip: Sharing your plans regarding the budget with someone else is brilliant because it exponentially increases your likelihood of achieving your goals.

Prioritize your expenses

Your goal-setting process will be completed once you prioritize your expected expenses into the spending groups.

Must have’s: The priority expenses that you need to pay before any others. Those include your rent or mortgage, electricity, water, sewer, and trash expenses, as well as food and clothing. Make sure to have emergency savings into your must-have priorities in the budget. You could need them in case of medical emergencies or job loss.

Critical needs: Include cell phone and internet services, childcare, debt payments, transportation, insurance, maintenance… Think about where you can save some of your hard-earned money. If you live relatively close to your workplace, consider riding a bike instead of driving to work. It’s much cheaper and no less important, much more sustainable.

Lifestyle decisions: These include your daily choices such as eating out, drinking fancy coffee, going to the movies, purchasing a piece of nice clothing, or getting Netflix, for example. To cut back on some of these wants means a lifestyle change, which is why some people refrain from creating a budget. However, cutting back on such spending will get you to your set goals.

Trivial wishes: Those are basically anything you want but can do without, including long-term desires.

Prioritizing your expenses is vital because it shows you which costs are fundamental and essential and which can wait. Building a rational structure will help you steer clear of emotionally driven purchases.

Track your expenses

Grab a calculator and calculate your expenses before you estimate your net income. This approach will help you make rational decisions about your spending, which will lead to better outcomes for you.

Create spending categories for regular bills in your budget, and then add the expected payments that you will need to make. When it comes to variable expenses, do your best to estimate your monthly purchases in that category. Make sure to take seasonal factors and holidays, birthdays, and other factors into account.

Record your income

Write down your expected monthly income using your net income. How to Create a Family Budget that Works ebook will help you with all of these steps! No stressing. No worries.

Subtract planned spending from projected income

After you estimate your future expenses and income, subtract your planned purchases from your payment. The strategy is simple; a figure above $0 is living beneath your means, whereas a figure near $0 means you expect to live within your means. If you get a resulting figure below $0, that means you wish to live beyond your means.

To build your savings and investments, you should, of course, live below your means. It’s only logical. If you find you’re living beyond your means, you don’t necessarily have to cut back on some of your expenses. Instead, you could consider increasing your income by seeking a better paying or a side job.

Plan according to your weak spots and budget

If you happen to find yourself faced with a negative projected balanced budget, don’t make a common mistake of an immediate cut of expenses. Instead, take some time to find an effective way to balance out your household budget. Adjusting your spending is a solid way to go, but in the meantime, look for other ways to increase your income.

Conclusion

If you find yourself in over your head regularly when it comes to paying for your life needs and wants, you should revisit your priorities and expenses. If you’re living beyond your means for housing, transportation, or communication, think about what you can change to unburden your budget.

Productivity Hacks for Procrastinators

There isn’t one person in this world who hasn’t been the victim of procrastination at some point in their life. Whether it was during high school, college years, at work, or at home; everyone puts things off from time to time.

This means, there’s always room for you to increase productivity. Today I’m sharing some of the best productivity hacks that have helped me go from working crazy hours 7 days a week as a freelance writer to only working 3-4 days per week as a freelance writer, without losing money.

The below productivity hacks are the same hacks that helped me increase my productivity!

  • You’ll need to first make a promise to yourself that you will start using these hacks to increase productivity.

I’ve found making a promise to myself to achieve something has truly changed my world, and helped me achieve great success.

Acknowledge That You’re Procrastinating

The first step towards change, with anything, requires that you acknowledge the problem exists. In this case, you’ll need to notice that you are procrastinating and acknowledge it. Do not beat yourself up with negative self-talk, rather just admit this is happening.

What you need to do each time you acknowledge that you’re procrastinating is say a phrase that triggers you to realize what you’re doing. You can say “procrastinating” or “moving on” to help get your mind moving forward away from your learned habit of procrastination.

Figure Out Where Your Time Goes

We all have the same 24 hours in a day to get things done. Everyone uses different things to fill their time. To improve your productivity, you’ll need to identify the areas where you’re wasting time. Start making a note of what you do each day, the time, and so forth. I used the clockify desktop timing app to narrow down where I’m spending my time each day during this step.

Once I was able to see where my time was truly going, I was better able to narrow down the work hours, and remove time wasters to increase productivity. Digital distractions, such as your smartphone, are one of the biggest temptations we all have.

I put my smartphone on vibrate and used Kill News Feed in Chrome (extension) to reduce my distractions until I mastered time management. This helped so much!! I cannot stress enough how useful this extension was for my productivity levels.

  • Make another promise to yourself that you will find a way to remove the activities that are “wasted time” items on your Clockify list.

Make Time Your Best Friend

As I said, I used Clockify to really narrow down the time that I spent on every activity during the day. I tracked clients I write for, blogging time for my own sites, the time it takes to check email, networking on social, and so forth.

In order to manage your time for increased productivity, you’re going to have to be honest with how you spend every moment in the day. For activities that go beyond the computer, just keep a small notepad that you jot down the time involved with each activity you do.

Yes, this part was a little difficult. I mean I was wasting time in so many different areas that it took away from work and family time. Again, do not stress out or beat yourself up about this, simply become aware of how long each task takes you, so you can make time your best friend!

Improve Your Time Estimates

This brings me to my next productivity hack, improve your time estimates. Now that you’ve tracked how long each task takes you, it’s time to improve your estimated time per project or activity. This is where the fun comes in, sort of!

Now that you know how long something takes you to complete, you can get a better idea of what to charge for your various projects or tasks you complete for others.

You can get a feel for when your workday should end and set a goal to get your workday manageable so that you have more time to do the things you love!

Meet More Deadlines

Now that you’ve worked with each of these productivity hacks, it’s time to start meeting those deadlines. You will no longer have to create excuses for why a project isn’t done on time or why you didn’t run that errand you were supposed to do.

Once you start making time your best friend, your entire world changes for the better. You’ll feel more confident, carefree, and peaceful in your life as soon as you use the hacks I shared today to the fullest extent!

Even people who have lived their whole life being procrastinators can harness the power of time management. You must take each of these productivity hacks and implement them into your life for a few weeks. if you find that you start drifting back into procrastination mode, start over.

Listen, the road to great success is long, and not a single soul here is perfect. Keep working on this one day at a time, and within a few months, you will find that you’re more productive and rarely find procrastination enters your life!

I end with this question today;

Do you struggle with procrastination?

My Journey to Great Success

My Journey to Great Success

Hey everyone! Brandy Ellen here. I’m ready to share some of my experiences in life that led me to great success. This journey has had twists and turns, ups and downs, tears, and smiles. I’ve cried and laughed, I’ve laughed so hard I cried, but here I am with the confidence to say that I’ve achieved great success!

Food in the Home Great Success

I understand that we all define great success in different ways. My first experience of feeling as if “I made it” was when, after years of struggling, my children finally had a full freezer, fridge, and cupboards of food. Some processed foods, some fresh, but food nonetheless!

  • To me, having food in the home to supply the children with their needs in this area made me feel like a great success!

That was probably my first set of tears that flowed from my eyes down my cheeks in 2020. Finally! The kids had a steady food supply without having state assistance. Yes, I’ve been on state assistance at various times in my life, both cash and food stamps.

I’ve had to stay with my parents more than once, and I’ve been homeless. Life wasn’t ever “easy” for me, and it’s not “easy” now, nor do I expect life to ever be “easy”.

  • Here’s the thing; life isn’t meant to be easy, it’s meant to help you grow stronger, wiser, and more well-rounded as each new chapter arrives.

It may sound funny to some of you out there, that this positive thinking freelance writer, felt most successful when she provided FOOD for her kids. That’s okay, I’m confident with the way I define success and my individual story of great success.

Great Success in Relationships

Another area where I define something as part of my great success story is being reunited with my sons’ father. We divorced when our youngest of two boys was around age 2. While we’ve always been amicable, and perhaps many issues derived from having two babies in two years, us reuniting in late 2019 is for sure part of what I feel is a great success.

Learning to spend time listening to someone, communicating effectively with them, and then having that ah-ha moment that ‘wait we should be together’ thought is such an amazing experience.

We both were at a time in our life where we saw the value of the friendship we’ve always had, the sons we shared, and each other. When you can pause all the emotions of the past, to live in this one moment, and truly feel what’s right and act on it? That’s a great success!

  • When you’re married or in a relationship with someone who values your opinon, listens to your thoughts, and truly cares about you it’s worth more than any amount of money.

To me, great success is not defined in terms of financial gain. Great success is defined as the ability to grow from the not-so-wise younger version of yourself into a mature, open-minded, well-rounded individual.

Great Success with Business

While I don’t define great success in terms of finances alone, it is a significant part of my great success story. Lack of money is what led my ex and me back together; we were both homeless (for different financial reasons) with our sons together before committing to take friendship to the relationship level, again.

Managing money better is what led to the great success of having food in our home. So, finances do play a key role in my great success story. I just don’t feel it’s the defining part of my story.

I got lost along the journey to great success. I had these goals ready to achieve, and in walked someone who didn’t belong in that journey (more than once). I didn’t set healthy boundaries with others. I just let life pass me by as I tried to figure out the best direction after each mishap.

  • I’ve always known in my soul that you will have great success in business if you follow your heart, stay true to who you are, and help others along the way rather than focusing on “I need to make money now”.

The only reason that I sit here today sharing my story is that, with the help of my supportive community around me, I kept on going. I didn’t resort to negative self-talk, bashing others, or looking outward to blame something or someone for my mishaps.

Each time I allowed someone or something to interrupt my path to my goals, I looked inward to learn more about myself. I wanted to know, needed to know, the root problem for my mishaps. I will continue using my growth mindset to evaluate and adjust as each new chapter arrives.

No matter how often I get taken off course, or what happens in my life, I’ve continuously helped others, let others vent to me, lent support, and advice. I do these things because they matter more deeply to me than the amount of money in my bank account.

  • I have always stayed true to what my true mission in life is; to inspire others to live their best life!

This, my friends, is my true great success story. Being blessed to help others in any way I can. Whether it’s donating funds to help with groceries or a new baby on the way, helping them with a minor blog problem, or lending my ear for listening;

the biggest reasons I stand here today with food in the home, a roof over my head, an amazing partner, and a successful business is that I stayed true to who I am and I never gave up.

I can’t help but pour my heart out with how much a growth mindset can help you overcome so many challenges that life tosses at you. If you truly have a dream to be your own boss, and you want to change the world, you can do it!

A growth mindset is what alters my perspective of situations that happen to me. I allow myself to feel the grief, sadness, or anger but move on as soon as that process is over. I remove the emotion from the story, adjust my sails, and handle what I can handle today to achieve my great success story.

My story isn’t over yet, it is something that I will continuously work on throughout my entire life, but as of this moment? I am pretty confident in saying that my great success story has expanded enough that I’m now better able to help others get through those mishaps so that they can learn to harness the growth mindset and do great things in their life.

I end with this question today;

Do you feel like your life has been a great success overall? Why or why not? Also, is there something I can try to help you with?

The Best Habits to Increase Productivity

Many people spend their time wishing that they could get more time in the day. This is something that many people struggle with. Productivity goes hand in hand with time management, but mindset training can help with this area, too.

If you’re someone who is tired of spending days wishing for more hours in the day, more motivation, or just looking to reduce the wasted hours in each day then these tips are for you!

The tips below combined with our productivity for procrastinators ebook will get you headed in a positive direction. You’ll soon have more time to do what you love and feel inspired to use your growth mindset to learn new things.

Keep Your Desk Decluttered

Creativity is often found during the most chaotic moments in life, but having a litter-strewn office space isn’t going to whisk you into productivity mode. When you have visible fliers, sticky notes, paperwork, and everything else all over the desk you’re just inviting procrastination.

All of the clutter on your desk or in the office will just remind you of unfinished tasks. That little sticky note that tells you to go do something for household chores, the unfinished book that you meant to read, and other papers on the desk put your mind in the wrong headspace for productivity.

We read somewhere that keeping your desk and office space organized can increase productivity and focus by at least half as long as someone with a cluttered desk space.

Schedule Time to Read Email

The key to stopping procrastination in its track is to schedule a time to read email. Shut the notifications off on your smartphone, close the email tab on your computer, and hold yourself back from checking email unless it’s during the scheduled time.

Many entrepreneurs face this challenge because they want to quickly reply to emails for fear of missing out on a fabulous offer. The thing is, checking email too frequently during your day enables the procrastinator side to reign over you.

Create an auto-responder for emails, if you’re fearful that lack of response will make someone upset or you’ll miss out on an opportunity. Note what time you check emails during the day so they know when to expect a reply from you. This will help you get more done, we promise!

Rise Early

While many people who have achieved great success swear by this method of getting up early, we know everyone is different. We suggest that you wake up and work during a time that you’re most creative.

If you’ve been working on personal improvement then you have a pretty good idea what this “time” is.

Improving your productivity is all about developing healthy repetitive habits that remove procrastination to ignite great success. Consider waking up before anyone else to spend some time going through your daily task list or enjoying the silence to prepare your mindset for the day.

Focus on What’s Important

Lastly, you’ll want to focus on your priority tasks. Each night you should draft up a task list of things to do for the next day. When you wake up, take a moment to review what’s most important for the day.

Taking the time to evaluate what’s most important to complete that day will help you focus on one prioroity task at a time. This allows you to gauge your day and plan the hours you’re engaged in work accordingly.

Doing this final hack of focusing on what’s important as a means to develop new habits for productivity will help you complete more tasks each day because you’re not allowing your mind to get overwhelmed with a huge to-do list.

Developing new habits to increase productivity is all about taking one day at a time. Write down some actionable steps you can take to add these new habits into your life. Focus on one change at a time, master it, and move onto another habit.

You’ll find that you’re soon able to get more done and feel more confident about your life. Increasing productivity doesn’t take a lot of extra work, it is simply a matter of focusing strongly on one new habit at a time.

We end with this question today;

What helps you be more productive in your daily life?

Why is Growth Mindset Important?

To achieve great success you must engage in the process of personal growth at all times. When thinking about what impacts your success or failure most, the highest achievers in this world say that your mindset is what matters most.

What you believe about yourself can significantly impact your success or failure. People who believe their abilities can be improved through dedication and hard work will typically move ahead and take action without excuses.

Those that demonstrate an open mind, and a willingness to learn have quite often been seen as some of the most successful people in the world. Knowing more about mindsets, how they’re formed, and what you can do to change your mindset for great success is just the beginning steps of achieving all that you desire in life, business, and love.

How Mindsets Are Formed

From the time that human beings arrived on Earth, they have thought, acted, and fared differently from each other. Common sense tells me that our differences have more to do with the variances in our backgrounds, learning experiences, and training than anything else.

You’ll find that internal variables like genetic makeup also have a part to play alongside external variables like backgrounds, experiences, and training with how each person lives their life and what they believe.

Types Of Mindsets

There are different types of mindsets that will help you fail or achieve great success. Those type of mindsets include:

  • Abundance Mindset vs Scarcity Mindset
  • Productive Mindset vs Defensive Mindset
  • Fixed Mindset vs Growth Mindset

You can learn more about the types of mindsets, and how to adjust your mindset for great success in our Growth Mindset Ebook.

Why is Mindset Important?

Mindset can work in two ways; it can open doors for you but also provide serious limitations based on your beliefs and approach in different scenarios. This means mindset plays a significant role in helping you spot opportunities.

Mindsets can just as equally trap you in self-defeating cycles, what I like to call limiting beliefs. The stories you tell yourself, and what you think about yourself play a huge role in your success or failure.

Importance Of Mindset In Life

Having the right mindset is an essential requirement for great success. Whether you’re a teacher, entrepreneur, student, parent, or any other person in this world, you need to have the right mindset to be great at what you do.

Each profession comes with its own obstacles and unpredictable situations that having a positive mindset allows you to overcome. A growth mindset individual will see these new obstacles as welcomed challenges and an opportunity to grow or learn.

Mindsets Are More Than Beliefs

While it’s easy to confuse a mindset with beliefs, they are not one and the same. Mindsets have the ability to dictate your reactions to situations and other things in life. Mindset helps you frame situations differently by transforming your cognitive functions.

At the same time, your mindset will help direct your attention to the most essential cues while filtering out irrelevant information so that you’re not as overwhelmed. A growth mindset helps direct yourself towards sensible goals that give you a solid sense of direction.

Essentially, your mindset is habitual and it will define what you are and who you’re capable of becoming. This is why I’m a huge advocate for the growth mindset, and why I just had to share our team’s Growth Mindset Ebook.

I truly believe if you can retrain your thoughts that you can achieve great success (because I’ve done it and continue to do it)!

How Mindsets Are Formed

Now that you understand a little more about mindsets, you’re probably wondering how mindsets are formed. There is much research that suggests variations in the reasoning behind one’s mindset, but I believe it has a lot to do with genetic makeup, experiences, education, and upbringing.

As we grow older and mature, we find that our mindset changes. The belief patterns we once thought made sense, no longer fit with the current patterns of society. People with growth mindsets experience this change stronger than those with a fixed mindset.

Like me, as I grow older and experience new things, more education, and witness more in society, my mindset changes about topics, behaviors, and people in general.

As I continue to work on developing my skills and using the knowledge I have to grow and learn; my growth mindset gets stronger because I’m repetitively practicing my belief that you’re never too old to learn something new!

The Emotion Factor

While repetition of your new mindset patterns is important, it’s not the only factor that comes into play with the creation of new habits and beliefs. There’s an emotional factor involved with mindset training.

Emotions can be helpful and harmful during the process of achieving great success. That’s why I highly recommend you read my other article on site called “Mindsets that Lead to Low Self-Confidence and How to Change Them“. In that article, I discuss the thoughts we tell ourselves and tips to diminish negative beliefs and thought patterns to improve your life.

The thing is that repetition is a key factor for mindset training, but associating a positive emotion with this newly learned thought pattern means you have a higher chance for long-term success.

Final Thoughts on Growth Mindset

This is the opinion of myself, not necessarily the entire team here at Learn Grow Master, although I did create this site with a team of like-minded individuals so I’m confident they will feel similarly.

I firmly believe that the biggest reason for my successes was a combination of continuously practicing my mindset training and associate an emotion with each newly learned habit.

Even when I felt completely numbed out by a horrible situation (or two or three) in life, I remained steadfast in believing that everything in my life happens to teach me something new.

This may be something new about myself, another person, society, or something else, but I firmly believe every challenge and obstacle that gets tossed my way is another chance for me to use my growth mindset to expand my current knowledge and come out on the other side stronger, wiser, and ready to tackle anything else life decides to toss my way.

I want this feeling for everyone out there, but I do understand I have connections with fixed mindset people as well as growth mindset people. If this isn’t your cup of tea, then I respect that, but if any part of you has this little desire to learn more, then please go grab The Growth Mindset ebook and dive right in.

Take one small actionable step each day towards resetting your mind and creating new habits to achieve great success in all areas of your life.

I end with this question today;

Do you believe that mindset can help you achieve great success? Why or why not?

Best Ways To Save Money

If there’s one thing mankind is running after collectively, it’s the pursuit of money. No matter where you are or what you do, money is always the driving force behind all of the significant decisions that you make in life, from your next meal to your very first home.

While most people are focused on making more money, others are trying to find ways to save money.

Saving money sounds very easy, but it can be quite tricky, especially if you’re the breadwinner or sole earner in your household. However, there are some ways to save money that you can employ in your life, and these take you one step closer to financial stability.

Let’s have a look at the best ways to save money.

Say No to Debt

If you haven’t heard it before, hear it from us: debt destroys lives. Once you start taking loans from banks or lenders, you get stuck in an infinite loop of monthly debt payments and interest accumulations that cause you to pay a lot more than you borrowed.

The best way to rid yourself of debt is to start with the smallest ones and make your way upwards from there. Once you pay off every last cent, you’ll feel relieved. Plus, you’ll have more money freed up that you can save or invest.

Watch What You Buy

The biggest problem with most people is their impulsive shopping tendencies, which come to life at supermarkets and convenience stores. In these stores, hundreds of essential and non-essential products are stacked in such an appealing manner that you keep dropping stuff into your cart, and the offers and discounts also entice you.

If you take a closer look at your bill, you’ll be shocked to find that more than half of the things you bought aren’t even necessary! Therefore, make sure to keep an eye on your buying and spending habits.

Get Rid of Automatic Subscriptions

If you’re a TV and movie junkie, the chances are that you have a subscription for Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, and all of the streaming platforms out there. Plus, you’ll also have a TV box, gym memberships, and whatnot.

If you need to save money, then it’s time you review your subscriptions and memberships and see which ones you can do without. If you pay more attention, you’d realize you can do without all of them.

Ditch the Brands

There’s no doubt that branded products are of good quality, but it’s the exquisite packaging and branding that pulls you towards them. If you take a closer look, you won’t be able to tell the difference between branded and generic products once you remove the packaging and place them side-by-side.

If you stick with generic products for a short while, you’ll be able to save hundreds of dollars conveniently. Plus, you won’t even have to cut down on anything.

Set Up a Savings Account

Do you have a savings account? If not, then you’re not taking your saving seriously. By setting up a savings account, you can transfer some of the money from your account into it every month, preferably as soon as your salary comes in. It’ll be a few dollars that you won’t be tempted to spend.

Moreover, you can even set up your account to directly debit a fixed amount to your savings account as soon as your salary is credited. This is the perfect way to ensure that you save a certain amount every month. Check your savings every six months or so, and you’ll be surprised how much money you saved.

Don’t Party on Extra Income!

When we receive unexpected or extra money from somewhere, it’s always a delightful experience! Whether it’s a rebate, refund, or overtime pay, it should go towards your savings directly. If it’s a good amount, you should save at least half of it, while the remainder can be used for any essential or crucial tasks.

Don’t spend it all on partying because the guilt of wasting money is always higher than the joy of receiving it!

Use Electricity Wisely

Another excellent way to save money is to monitor your house’s energy consumption and take steps to reduce it. You can cut down on your electricity bill by implementing a few tried and tested methods, such as installing energy-efficient lighting and electrical appliances, as well as less usage of hot water, as it’s one of the most significant contributors to your energy consumption.

Replacing your current bulbs and appliances with new ones will cost you some money, but it will be worth it in the long run.

Switch to Packed Lunches

If you start keeping track of the money you spend on eating out, you’d be shocked at the hundreds of dollars you dish out! There’s no harm in ordering lunch from your favorite restaurant while you’re at work, but it isn’t good for your health or financial well-being.

To avoid the temptation of ordering food, make sure to carry a packed lunch with you so that you have something to eat whenever you feel hungry. Trust us; you’ll be able to save a great deal of money in this manner!

Take the DIY Route

The age of do-it-yourself allows you to perform many tasks and repairs around the house on your own, and it also enables you to make different objects that you need instead of buying them. You’d be surprised at how much money you can save by building something yourself, as the cost of materials isn’t very high.

For DIY projects, Google and YouTube are your best friends, and you just have to know how to follow instructions correctly. Be it a table lamp or drywall installation; you can do everything yourself and save a lot of money that would be spent on professional help.

These are some of the top ways to save money, and they don’t require you to make any huge sacrifice or change your lifestyle drastically. Even if you apply one or two methods from the ones we’ve mentioned above, you can easily save hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars every year!

We end with this question today;

What’s one change you’ve made in life to save more money?

Know You Can Have Anything, but Not Everything

This is the number one reason so many people start the process of positive thinking, budgeting & saving, or working on their money mindset but give up! We live in a world where instant gratification is everywhere we turn.

Grab your smartphone and log into social media. You’ll see tons of likes, comments, and reactions within minutes of posting something. Social media has created a world where people forget to be patient and eventually lose focus.

We’re always looking for the next big thing when we should be strictly focused on our biggest desires and practicing daily habits to get there. You may not have everything you want but you can have anything you want.

This means that it’s possible to get all that you desire, given the right time and focus. When you work through this activity to think about what your biggest desire is and what type of life you want, take the time to truly envision what your world would be like when you attain these desires.

How will you feel?

What type of person will you be?

What activities or tasks will be removed from your daily life because they don’t pertain to this mission?

Making a goal to stick with creating the life you truly desire and deserve will take a lot of self-discipline. You’re going to put a pause or stop to some daily habits, like aimlessly surfing social media, so that you can remain strictly focused on this new goal.

Start Taking Small Actionable Steps Every Day

Lastly, you’ll want to start taking small actionable steps every day. Using a notepad, Trello, or Asana to develop a nice set of daily tasks to complete will encourage you to stay dedicated to your mission to achieve your biggest desires.

Most people write their desires down so that they have a visual reminder. This visual reminder, much like a vision board, helps keep your mind focused on this new mission. You’ll find that most of your daily life changes as you work on this process. New opportunities will arise that align with your biggest desire.

Just one small actionable step each day will help the Universe bring to you the experiences, opportunities, and tools you need to succeed. You just need to keep your mind focused, and use positive affirmations while you sleep to train your subconscious mind.

Here at Learn.Grow.Master, we help others expand their mind so that they can achieve their biggest desire. It takes time. It takes patience. It takes dedication. BUT one thing’s for sure; everyone we help eventually attains that one big desire and feels more joyous than they have in years.

While we can’t guarantee results, we can guarantee that our tips and tools were hand-selected by the best of the best in the coaching and positive lifestyle industry to help you achieve all that you desire. With a little hard work, self-motivation, and mindset training you will be well on your way towards achieving everything you’ve ever dreamed of!

We end with this question today;

Have you ever used a vision board to achieve your goals?

Mindsets that Lead to Low Self-Confidence and How to Change Them

If you’re struggling with low self-confidence then chances are you’re allowing negative self-talk to consume your everyday life. When you allow negative self-talk or a negative mindset to consume your life, you’re not giving yourself a fighting chance to live the life you desire!

Negative mindsets tend to have a lot of “always” or “never” talk. This creates a sense of entrapment and hopelessness. This leads to having low self-esteem and low self-confidence in all areas of life.

Here are some examples of negative mindsets that could be inhibiting your ability to move forward to achieve all that you desire:

“I will never get it right.”

This negative mindset reaffirms that you won’t ever get anything right. If you’re learning a new skill, training your mind, working on your wealthy mindset, or something else, but you keep telling yourself “I will never get it right” then all you’re doing is reaffirming your self-doubt.

You will indeed, never get it right if you keep allowing your toxic thoughts to consume your mind, thus controlling your actions (or lack of actions).

“Nobody understands what this is like.”

Sadly lack of self-confidence brings you to a state of belief that no one else understands what you’re going through. The reality is that you’re not as isolated as you think you are. Many people have experienced similar (or the same) situations and come out better (and stronger) for it.

If this is a negative mindset you experience frequently, then you’ll continuously isolate yourself, thus not experiencing the true joy of living life to the fullest.

“I am totally useless.”

This sentence makes me so sad when I hear another human being say it. No, you are not totally useless! We all have our unique traits that offer something beautiful to this world. We fool ourselves into thinking that we’re useless, when in fact, we’re not.

This negative self-talk will destroy your self-confidence and inhibit your ability to show the world your uniqueness. I’m pretty confident that you have at least one unique talent!

“I am a complete failure.”

This negetavie mindset often comes from those limiting beliefs that we were raised to believe. It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 55, sometimes we hold onto these limiting beliefs from childhood that serve no purpose in our current life.

No one is a complete failure, but when you suffer from low self-confidence it surely seems that way. Find one thing that you have been successful at, and hold onto that thought!

“I could never do that.”

I have said this to myself more times than I care to admit. We all suffer from low self-confidence at one point or another. Telling yourself that you could never do that or do this, is just reaffirming your low self-confidence belief system.

The truth is that there are so many amazing things you can truly do in life, if only you make that desire a priority. You never know if you can do something until you try!

How Can These Negative Mindsets Be Overcome?

The best way to overcome these negative mindset patterns that lead to low self-confidence is to reprogram your thought processes. You will need to pay close attention to those negative thought patterns.

As soon as a negative thought pattern sneaks into your conscious mind, immediately change it to something positive. You can use some positive affirmations to get the ball rolling or try these Guided Meditation & Hypnosis Audios.

Some examples to immediately change the negative mindset into a positive mindset include:

  • Negative Thought – “I will never get it right” Positive Thought – “I’m having trouble with this, but if I keep trying and ask for the right help, I know I can succeed.”
  • Negative Thought – “I’m totally useless” Positive Thought – “I’m feeling sad today, but yesterday I helped this person out and they were thankful. I know I am useful.”

While this information is meant to help you, I do understand that personal improvement is not always an easy mission to accomplish on your own. That’s why I highly recommend looking into counseling or therapy sessions that focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

It’s okay and a must to ask for help and seek guidance whenever you’re suffering from consistent negative thought patterns. There is help and there is hope! Just reach out, I promise someone out there is capable of helping you through this transition.

As long as you realize that the negative mindset patterns you’ve developed over the years are doing more harm to your life than good, I’m confident you’ll seek the help to change these thought patterns!

I end with this question today;

Have you ever had these negative self-talk patterns? What advice would you lend someone struggling with a negative mindset?

Tips to Ease Anxiety During a Crisis

Many people suffer from anxiety. Some have stronger symptoms of anxiety than others, but either way, anxiety can consume your entire being as you crumble into pieces.

Anxiety causes an irrational level of fear and worry. This fear and worry can lead you down a path of depression and the inability to cope with everyday life. Our team knows what anxiety feels like, which is why we provide a variety of tips and tools to help you cope during times of high anxiety.

With many people having been in lockdown, and some still are, during the 2020/2021 pandemic, we wanted to share some tips that can help anyone with anxiety relax a teeny bit during times of crisis.

Unplug from Screens

Anxiety can be fueled when you watch the news, surf social media, or see advertisements. During a crisis, you’ll find that every part of the internet and most news sources are talking about the crisis. This won’t help you reduce anxiety.

  • Try to unplug from screens for a bit so that you can ease your way back to reality. Reducing the amount of time you consume negative media will help calm your fear and incessant worrying.

Call a Friend

If you’re stuck at home or just so crippled with anxiety that you don’t want to go anywhere, then why not call a friend?! We all have that special someone or group of friends who understand our anxiety and are more than willing to talk us off the ledge.

  • Find solace in reaching out to your loved ones who can help you get those irrational fears and worries out of your head.

Start Meditation

There are so many meditation apps available, our team has recommended these Guided Meditation & Hypnosis Audios to help with this process. Using some form of meditation, be it sitting still and closing your eyes, or using hypnosis audios, will significantly improve your mindset so you chill out.

  • Look at the app store on your smartphone for a free meditation app. Try a few of them until one resonates with you. Stick with the one that helps you most, and use it daily!

We understand that each of you out there is unique in how you cope during times of high stress. All we can do is provide you with the above tips and tools to get you started in a direction that helps YOU, the individual.

If you know someone out there who suffers from high levels of anxiety during a time of crisis, please take the time to reach out to them. Listen to them talk, and hear what they have to say. Hold your tongue from judgment, only speak kindly to them while you listen to their every word.

Sometimes, being that kind of friend that shows some compassion can go a long way for someone suffering from high anxiety during a crisis.

We end with this question today;

Do you or someone you know suffer from anxiety? What has helped you, or your friend, cope during times of crisis?

Frugal Living Tips for Great Success

Frugal living is often associated with being cheap with your money. Generally, it is believed that hoarding money, buying low-quality products, and spending less and less money are the criteria for frugal living. Like most things, this is misinterpreted, and the meaning of ‘frugal living’ is a false concept.

Frugal living is a strategic way of handling money to adopt an efficient lifestyle. It demands a person to think and analyze the costs and benefits of spending money rationally. When you’re practicing a lifestyle that involves frugal living, you become conscious of spending money on things that matter and cutting back on spending money on things that can be avoided or not necessarily needed.

A frugal life teaches people how to budget properly, avoid unnecessary costs and debts, and become organized with money. When applying frugal living tips, it does not mean that you cannot buy expensive goods and services or any high-quality/high-end brands – it simply means spending money wisely and smartly to save up for the future.

If you’re looking into adopting a frugal living, then below are ten tips you can follow:

Budget your money

Creating a budget helps you keep in check the spendings you can make and how much savings you have made. For frugal living, a budget allows you to see where you can cut down on costs and adjust other spendings in the same budget.

Make use of any sort of discounts

Using discounts on purchases is not a shame at all. To create a frugal living, this is a very efficient method of saving money where possible, without causing harm to anyone or anything. You can always save money by using coupons and not letting them expire or throw them in the trash. Reward points are also an easy utility to cut back on costs.

Waiting for sales to buy a certain item is also a smart move, and all in all, just utilizing sales to the maximum is a smart way to save money when you can pay less for the same item.

Manage your meals

This is also a form of budgeting – except, in this, you learn how to allocate your resources on food alone. Managing your meals means creating a weekly/monthly planner of your meals. It allows you to look ahead of time and see how you can allocate your money to each meal and how much money can be allocated to other things like coffee, milk, and restaurant meals.

Planning early permits you to not spontaneously eat take-out or going out for food. Therefore, that saves a lot of money you otherwise would’ve spent without realizing its loss.

Know what car you can afford

Buying a car is almost everyone’s dream. But when trying to adopt frugal living, it’s essential to realize when you can afford to buy a luxurious car and when you have to critically manage your money around it. When buying a car, you should stick to the one that you can afford without having to pull many strings here and there.

Moreover, it’s important to also be able to keep up with its expenses, such as its insurance. With insurance, too, make sure to pick the best possible plan for your car and yourself.

Shop what you need and can afford

Shopping impulsively or because it’s ‘therapeutic’ is a tendency of all humans. However, it must be overcome if you’re trying to achieve a frugal living. Buy what you need instead of shopping impulsively, and take your time to think before making a purchase.

Additionally, stay within the budget and purchase what you can afford. This way, you can keep a check on the status of your money with you.

Create a smart traveling plan

Traveling is quite expensive, but it can be made affordable if tried, leading to frugal living. When deciding to travel, make sure you do thorough research and pick a relatively cheap destination. Moreover, look for discounted or cheap flights and hotels you can book, and make sure to use promo codes too. You can also use credit card awards for flight booking.

Additionally, indulge in activities free of costs, such as parks, sightseeing, and outdoor landmarks. Some cities also have assigned days with free entrance in museums, so do your research.

Be wise with your wardrobe

It’s easy to want a lot of clothes, shoes, bags, and to have the fanciest wardrobe we can have. But unfortunately, spending on wardrobes contributes to a lot of the ‘unnecessary’ spending previously discussed. To avoid this for frugal living, rummage through your wardrobe – and in the depths of it, you’re sure to find some items that you wore only once, a long time ago.

Therefore, find those items to use again and properly organize your closet. Likewise, re-use your things as much as you can – there is absolutely no shame in that! And before a shopping spree, go through your wardrobe to know what you need, so that you don’t end up shopping for unneeded things.

Review your subscriptions

Most of the time, people subscribe to magazines, shows, TV cable, auto-shipping, etc., because it seemed useful to subscribe at that moment. However, they tend to stop paying attention to all these subscriptions over time and become too busy to unsubscribe.

Hence, sort through your subscriptions, keep what you use, and unsubscribe to those you don’t need. Therefore, you’ll save a lot of money by not having to pay for extra subscriptions – healthily embracing a frugal living.

Avoid going out for celebrations

Going out for celebrations is always a given. However, it may be what is stopping you from applying frugal living. It would be more efficient if parties were hosted at home, instead of paying huge bills for fine dining.

This would have you save money and enjoy some quality time with others since public places are usually loud and rushed. To make it even more frugal, you could also host a pot-luck party where everybody has contributed and is engaged.

Invest in a water filter

To carry out a frugal living, stopping your purchase of bottled water is a must. This not only contributes to environmental concerns but also takes up a lot of your budget. So it is safe to say that installing a water filter is a good investment because of its cost-effectiveness.

It’ll provide you clean drinking water without having to pay a ridiculously large amount of money for bottled water.

Frugal living is certainly not being selfish with your money; it’s only for financial protection. What’s the harm in that? So if you’re considering saving up to meet the demands of frugal living, then follow the tips mentioned above!

We end with this question today;
